Very good restaurant and the portion sizes are very generous. The chicken goujons starter was very tasty but the steak pie for the main course was a little tough, also a bit of a strange choice of vegetables with the main course. No idea on the dessert as was already full from the first two courses. Car park is a little small and not marked out very well, so found that although I parked next to a car already parked, all the regulars parked on the other side, which made it a bit difficult to get turned and drive back out.
Amazing food here and the staff were absolutely lovely especially emily. Can't fault it and will definitely be back
This is an old hotel so don't expect the generic cloned rooms you'd expect in the flashy new buildings. My room was basic but very comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and very efficient.
Stayed here for two weeks for work and was worth the while staying, lovely staff and the food is great. They couldn’t do enough for me and made it a nice stay. Will definitely try and stay again, the hiller club sandwich is too die for and if you want something smaller try the hiller stack yum yum and more yum. It’s nice to stay somewhere where there is a personality and a nice place with really nice people. You can keep travelodge I will have the Hiller. Bar on site and beer garden ample parking can get busy but the food and staff are awesome.
Great wee hotel with lively pub and nice restaurant - pub-grub done well! Friendly and helpful staff. Thoughtful amenities in my very comfortable room, and especially appreciated the owner opening up the kitchen early so I could get breakfast in plenty of time prior to my triathlon. Would recommend if needing overnight accommodation in the Montrose area.
Breakfast was the highlight - I haven't had an omelette that big or thst delicious in a long time, if ever! My room had huge gorgeous windows, and a large bed - and a beautiful bathroom. I'm quite happy with my stay here. The only caveat is that some of the rooms are quite small, so it that's an issue you may want to ask if some of their rooms are larger.
Despite it looking closed from a distance (big For Sale sign outside) it's fortunately still open and doing food and drinks.
A lovely overnight stay in a clean and well presented room, lovely dinner with family. Excellent food and excellent service from the moment we arrived.
